Quintessence award-winning palinka

Quintessence is Central Europe's largest palinka and fruit-spirit competition, judging more than 2,000 samples a year. Zekulhyda brought home 22 medals from 22 samples and two category champion titles in 2025, then 24 medals and the Grape Variety Master title in 2026.

This collection holds exactly the medal-winning bottles — the category champion wild sour cherry, the Apple Barrique, Fetească Neagră, pear, blackberry and the other 2025–2026 distinctions — each with its medal shown on the product page. Frequently asked questions

What is palinka, and how is it different from țuică?

Palinka is a spirit distilled exclusively from fermented fruit, with no added sugar, alcohol or flavouring, and at least 40% ABV. The name is protected in Transylvania and western Romania. Țuică is traditionally made from plums and is usually lower in strength. Zekulhyda palinka is distilled from fruit picked within 30 km of Săcueni, in the Ier Valley.

How should palinka be served?

At 18–20 °C, in a tulip-shaped glass that concentrates the aromas. Do not keep it in the freezer: the cold hides the fruit. Let it rest in the glass for a minute before the first sip, then enjoy it in small sips.

Do you deliver across Romania? How long does it take?

Yes, we deliver by express courier anywhere in Romania. The parcel leaves on the working day after confirmation and usually arrives within 1–3 working days. Bottles are packed individually in protective boxes. Delivery costs 20 lei per order.

Can I order if I am under 18?

No. Alcoholic beverages are sold only to persons aged 18 or over. On delivery the courier may ask for ID and will not hand the parcel to a minor.
